Rainwater Collection

I have installed two rainwater collection systems, one at Whitehawk and one in Davis. The one at Whitehawk is full, as it has been raining (several inches since May 1).  However, as I started to use it, it was very smelly.  I looked this up on the Internet, and it appears that the yellow pollen from the pine trees has gotten into the barrels (which I had already figured out) and rotted.  So this weekend I put some bleach into the barrels and will empty them tomorrow.  We’ll see if this helps.
