I found this Galeopetalum Giant at Trader Joe’s. (I can’t believe the orchids that are coming to the retail market now.) I originally thought this was a Zygopetalum, but Galeopetalums are a hybrid between Galeottia and Zygopetalum. The Galeottia part reduces the size of the plant.
It takes medium to bright light (morning and afternoon sun is good), good air movement, and intermediate temperatures. It does not have a dormant period, so can be fertilized year round.
This one is in bloom with two spikes — one with four blooms, and one with four buds. I will wait for the blooms to fade before moving this to S/H.
