I purchased this Ascocentrum Garayi from eBay vendor Kawamoto Orchids on March 1st, along with several other orchids. This orchid has struggled in the S/H media. It has lost two leaves on the bottom of the main stem, but does have a new leaf coming (We discovered this when coming back from Europe on June 4th.).
To grow well this orchid needs bright to full sunlight, intermediate to warm temperatures, and high humidity — which is probably why it is not doing so well. I initially placed it in a east-facing window, but have changed it to a west facing window where it can also get light from the skylights.
