Dendrobium Chrysopterum (Obtusisepalum) x sib.

This is Dendrobium Chrysopterum, which I purchased from Clown Alley Orchids on March 3rd.  It is commonly referred to as the candy-cane orchid because of its two-tone flowers.  This plant hasn’t done much since I potted it in S/H, except for the occasional leaf dying (which is normal).  I am hoping that the canes on this plant will become pendant, and I can hang the plant, or put it on the top shelf.

The orchids wiki says [emphasis is mine]

Plant grows in cool temperatures with medium amounts of light. Keep plant moist and fertilize during growth season. During winter reduce watering until new shoots appear.

The summer here might be a little warm for it, but right now, I’ll leave it where it is.

Hopefully what the blooms will look like on Dendrobium Chrystopterum
