Coelogyne Radicosa is in bloom

IMG_2562.JPGMy newly-acquired Coelogyne Radicosa is in bloom.  I received it in the mail yesterday, and after opening the package, I noticed that one bud was very full.  It opened overnight.  It is small, and I used my magnifying glass to enlarge it for the picture.

In the upper right of the flower is the next flower in the sequence.  I assume that this one will fade before the next one opens.

This is a sequentially blooming plant, and this flower is on one of the shorter branches.  The longest branch appears to have had 35 flowers, and the second longest 31 flowers.  Pretty impressive.

We’ll see how long the flower stays open.
