Dendrobium Smilliae ‘Lea’ x Smilliae ‘Aussie’

Bottlebrush041216.JPGI purchased this Dendrobium Smilliae ‘Lea’ x Smilliae ‘Aussie’ from H&R Orchids at the Sacramento Orchid Society Spring Show on April 9th.  It is native to Austrailia and New Guinea, and is known as the bottlebrush orchid, as it blooms resemble a (red/pink in this case) bottle brush.

It is a healthy plant, is not in bloom, and should bloom this next year.  It was planted in large/medium bark, and was quite dry.  I soaked it for an hour before repotting it into S/H this morning.
