Oncidium Tsiku Marguerite ‘#2’

Tsiku112916.JPGMy Oncidium Tsiku Marguerite ‘#2’ is in bloom.  I purchased this from Al’s Orchid Greenhouse in Virginia, in July of 2015, and planted it into S/H right away, where it immediately struggled.  It suffered the problems that many of my small-pot S/H plants, in that the salts eventually took over the pot.

I moved it to the solarium in June, thinking it would not survive, but it has done well with the additional light, and produced seven spikes late this summer.  These spikes are now in bloom, and I have a cloud of bright white flowers with a yellow lip.

I will plant this in a traditional bark mix when it finishes blooming.  It needs a new pot anyway, and I think it might do better is not in S/H.
