Dendrobium Kingianum is in bloom

Kingianum031217.JPGI received this Dendrobium Kingianum from the plant raffle at the Sacramento Orchid Society’s raffle table.  It came from Peter T. Lin’s Diamond Orchids, I believe.   It was not a very good plant when I acquired it, with some sunburn on the leaves of the early canes, and some misshaped leaves.

I placed it on the table in the center of the Solarium, cleaned it up at bit, and put it into a winter’s rest protocol.  It now has four spikes, with the flowers opening on the earliest spike.

This plant is very tight in its pot, and I will have to repot it soon.
