Oncidium Speckled Spire ‘Snowflake’ is in bloom.

Speckeled040717.JPGI purchased an Oncidium Speckeled Spire ‘Snowflake’ from Brookside Orchids at the Pacific Orchid and Garden Exposition in San Francisco on February 24th.  This is a large oncidium with two branching spikes, each 3′ or more in length, and it is now in bloom.  It should have well over 100 flowers, and be a “cloud of white flowers” when it is fully in bloom.  It is now blooming on the lower end of one spike.  The second spike is still developing.
