Dendrobium Victoria-Reginae is in bloom

Victoria042117.JPGMy pendant Dendrobium Victoria-Reginae is in bloom.  I saw the parent of this plant in the greenhouse of Bob Hamilton and John Leathers on my visit of May 24, 2016.  In the back of their greenhouses, they had a large Dendrobium Victoria-Reginae which was growing pendant out of the bottom of a net pot.  They snapped off a branch, gave it to me, and I planted it in a small net pot and put it in the southwest corner of the solarium, where it could get mostly reflected, bright light.

It grew a new branch throughout this last year, and recently budded out two flowers from the end of the original branch.  It is now in bloom, and the plant seems very happy.  It has now started a new branch.
