Lycaste Shoalhaven sib is in bloom.

Lycaste042417.JPGI purchased this Lycaste Shoalhaven sib (Shoalhaven ‘Alba Round’ x Shoalhaven ‘Albion’) from the Orchid Zone (Z6417) on my visit to their greenhouses on May 16th, 2016.  It was in bloom when I acquired it, but the blooms were not very high quality — some spots, and the sepals were very green.  I placed it in the solarium on the second shelf in the southwest corner, and it grew well.  In the fall, I noticed some scale, and cut off the offending leaves (It was near the time that the leaves would drop anyway).  It was sprayed, and went into its dormant state.

It has now started to bloom with four flowers, and two more in bud.  The sepals have much more yellow in them this year, and I am happy with the blooms.  It will need to be repotted after blooming as there is not the space for a new bulb.
