Odontoglossum Roy Wittwer x Splendidum

Wittwer052117.JPGI acquired this Odontoglossum Roy Wittwer x Splendidum from Bob Hamilton on my visit to his greenhouse on May 7, 2017.  This is one of the seedlings that Bob gave me, and it should be an interesting plant.  Odontoglossum Roy Wittwer is a maroon and white patterned flower, while Odontoglossum Splendidum is a largely-white flower with purple markings.  I believe Bob stated that Splendidum is a very good parent, taking the colors of its mate.  Thus this should be a maroon and white patterned flower.

I’ll have to wait until next spring to see…
