Rossioglossom (Schlieperianum x williamsianum) is in bloom

Rossio052517.JPGI purchased this Rossioglossom (Schlieperianum x williamsianum) from the Santa Barbara Orchid Estate on my visit to their open house on July 8, 2016.  It initially came with a two spikes in bud, but the flowers from these spikes did not open fully — they seemed to be stuck.  (Note:  When purchasing this plant, I noticed two others that also seemed to have “stuck” buds.)  I decided to wait a year and see what happened.

I repotted this plant into a bark mix, and it grew two new pseudobulbs, each of which formed a spike.  One spike has six buds, and the other seven, with two of the buds open now, and open fully.  When all flowers are open, this will be one beautiful plant.
