Oncidium Wildcat ‘Golden Red Star’

Wildcat112817.jpgMy Oncidium Wildcat ‘Golden Red Star’ is in bloom.  I have had this plant for some time, but this is the first time it has been entered into this blog.  Unfortunately, I cannot remember where I got it.  It was initially placed on the top shelf of the south side of the orchid room, and has been there for some time.  However, it was clearly not getting enough light.  A while ago, I moved it to the bottom shelf, on the southwest side of the orchid room, where it would get morning and afternoon light.  It has now produced two spikes, one of which is fully in bloom.

It is growing in a bark mix.

I like the dramatic colors that appear on these wildcats.
