A Merit Addition to the Orchids

I have taken in a lot of plants recently.  Many of them came with some bugs, specifically scale.  After several spot applications of Bayer’s 3-in-1, I decided to apply Merit, which is an insecticide that is applied as a drench, and the plants take through the roots, producing an environment that is not conducive to insects.  Merit contains the systemic insecticide Imidacloprid (75%), which is known to work well for mealybugs and scale.

I normally have applied Merit at six month intervals (November, April), but decided to apply it early this year to catch the bugs before spring comes.

I’ve been enjoying reading your blog. I was wondering if you can tell me your source for the Merit product and what dose you mix with water. Thanks
