Dendrobium Victoria-Reginae is in bloom again

Victoria082917.jpgMy pendant Dendrobium Victoria-Reginae is in bloom again, this time on the large cane that grew last year.  I saw the parent of this plant in the greenhouse of Bob Hamilton and John Leathers on my visit of May 24, 2016, and they broke off a piece for me.  I planted this in sphagnum moss, growing out of the bottom of a net pot, as I had seen the parent growing.  It is now growing its second new cane, and the end of the initial new cane is now in bloom.

One of my favorite colors…
